For our community project, we decided to support the Animal Welfare Society situated in Victoria Drive.  For the project, we divided the project into 3 parts.  Two groups revamped the existing cat pens, and one group tackled the ‘teenager’ dog pen.

Main problems that we had to solve included drainage, ventilation and basic shelter from the elements.  We also made additional activity products to promise physical activity amongst the animals.  Several sponsors provided us with food, paint, roofing and glass, which was all used to better the existing structures.  Door, locks and handles were fixed, as well as roofing for the animals to prevent rain from entering their homes.

The project was implemented form the 18th to the 22nd of June 2012.  16 Students took part in the renovations.
